What is Faceit?

Faceit was founded in 2012 and is a production company with an independent platform for the professional competitions for online games available in multiplayer. It was founded in London by Niccolo Maisto, Michele Attisani, & Alessandro Avallone. They are administrating leagues for games such as League of Legends, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: 2, and Rocket League. In January of 2016, the company received funding from Anthos Capital, Index Ventures, and United Ventures of 15 Million US Dollars.

Popular Faceit Leagues

In 2016, Faceit launched a global tournament for Counter-Strike: 2 that was known by the name Esports Championship Series (ESC).

In 2017, Youtube, the video-sharing online platform, partnered with the company. ECS was among the two premier leagues of Counter-Strike: 2 along with the ESL Pro League.

This series was later discontinued for producing a franchise-based league, called Flashpoint. It had 12 teams and a buy-in spot of 2,000,000 USD and also a revenue sharing and co-ownership with the competing teams.
